GREAT SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

for You, Your Children and Grandchildren!

DLPSW No. 15  offers  several wonderful scholarship to members, their children and  grandchildren. 

You can find application forms and requirements by clicking on the links below.  You can also get them from your Lodge Secretary, or by contacting Scholarship Chairman Maidie Karling, at (818) 787-6476 evenings, or by   She will be happy to mail you an application.

If you think you or a family member qualifies for any of the scholarships, don't let the opportunity pass by!

If you know anybody who is not now a Vasa member but would otherwise qualify for one of these scholarships, encourage her or him to become a member in a Local Lodge NOW.  This will give them the opportunity to apply for a scholarship next year! Please note that active involvement in Lodge activities counts on the application.

These are the opportunities your District offers:

THE ANDREW WENDELL SCHOLARSHIP is for teenagers 14 top17 years old who are either members, or children or grandchildren of members, in a Local Lodge in District #15. It covers the tuition for the Sjölunden Swedish language camp held each summer in July or August at Concordia Language Villages in Minnesota.  It also includes $500 for travel costs.  Read more

THE ELLEN BERGSTONE SCHOLARSHIP is a $1,000 scholarship for a District #15 member 55 years or older, who want to attend Elder Hostel camps. Read more

THE RAYMOND SANDBERG SCHOLARSHIPS are for studies at accredited institutions of higher learning. Scholarships of $4,000, $2,500 and $1,500 will be awarded. Recipient must have been a member of a local lodge in District 15 one year prior to the 2008 District Convention. Read more

THE CARL G. LINDQUIST VOCATIONAL, TECHNICAL AND TRADE SCHOLARSHIP is for enrollment in a full or part time vocational, technical or trade institution. Applicant must have been a member of District Lodge Pacific Southwest No. 15  for at least one year prior to the opening of the District Convention in February 2008.   Read more

THE RAYMOND JOHNSON MEDICAL SCHOLARSHIP (New!) is a 4-year renewable scholarship for a person already in or entering a school in the medical field, aiming for a career as a physician, nurse, paramedic, or other medical occupation. Applicant must be a member or immediate relative of a member of a Local Lodge within District 15 for at least one year before the opening of the next convention.  Read more
